Darrell Henry Lanegan

Darrell Henry Lanegan, age 91, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in Elk Point, SD.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2022, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.
Darrell was born on November 2, 1930, in Anthon, Iowa, the son of John and Rachel Lanegan. He graduated from Anthon High School. In 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.
On May 5, 1957, he married Helene Gaskins. The couple made their home in Sioux City.
Darrell was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his children, Craig (Anita) Lanegan, Linda (Tom) Gossage, Gregg Lanegan, RaeLynn (Brent) Wall; grandchildren, Alicia (Adam) Skow and her mother, Donna Kratke, Cody Gossage, Garrett Wall, Casey Wall; great grandchild, Levi Skow.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helene, and siblings.
