Sioux City, IA – Dennis L. Golden, 69, died Monday, October 16, 2023, at his residence in Sioux City, IA.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Daga’s on Broadway, 100 N. 14th St., Dakota City, NE. Dennis Lee Golden, the son of Odie “Slim” and Ruth (Crom) Golden was born September 6, 1954, in Sioux City. He graduated from high school in Ponca, NE, and went on to earn a BS degree from Northeast Community College. Dennis later obtained a degree in Ergonomics from Columbia University.
In June of 1973, Dennis was united in marriage with Theresa Stanek in Sioux City. He held various management positions at Tyson (formerly IBP) for 39 years, retiring in 2016.
Dennis played in multiple pool leagues and tournaments for over 40 years (as the Pioneers and Top Guns) and liked to watch Husker Football. He also enjoyed golfing with his “Golf Buddy” & friends, and even made a hole-in-one at Floyd Golf Course on July 31, 2019. Dennis loved his family and was often found bragging about his twin granddaughters.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Theresa; daughter, Keri (Dustin) Boyle; granddaughters, Emmalee and Isabella; and dog, McKella. Sisters Cindy Syx, Annie Brewer, and Sister-in-law Susie Golden and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John, and Jack Golden.
