Madeline R. McCormick, 89, of Jacksonville, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, March 4, 2016, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sioux City. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
She was born on July 5, 1926, in Ponca, Neb., the daughter of Edward and Mary (Heenan) Goergen.
She married William McCormick on April 10, 1944. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2001. Madeline worked at Interbake in Sioux City for 25 years.
She enjoyed boating, dancing, and traveling. She was a member of Church of Our Savior in Jacksonville and Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sioux City.
Madeline is survived by three daughters, Nannette (Irvin) Klemmensen of Jacksonville, Gloria Closter of Temple, Texas, and Sandra (Mark) Lindblom of Garland, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James (Blanche) Goergen and Clement (Teresa) Goergen, both of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret; and one brother, Donald.
