Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Beresford, SD. Tom was born March 30, 1936, in Sioux City, IA, the only child born to Gertrude Susan (Kieffer) and Henry Raymond Malloy. Tom attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Heelan High School. After graduation Tom enlisted in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge due to medical reasons. He attended the University of Omaha, NE and received a Bachelor of Science in business administration. Tom lived in Wayne, NE and worked for GMAC. In 1970 Tom moved to Laurel, NE and became an International Harvester Dealer. He owned and operated Malloy Inc. Tom’s mother, Gertrude, joined him. When her health started to fail she entered a nursing home in Sioux City. Tom sold the business, moved to Richland, SD and farmed family farms to be closer to his mother. Tom retired from farming and moved to Sioux City. In 2000 Tom bought a home in New River, AZ to enjoy warm winters and being surrounded by mountains and desert life. Tom talked fondly about growing up in a Catholic home. As a youth he was an altar server and continued throughout his life to be active in his parishes as a lector, a sponsor, and numerous committees. Everything that had to do with farming was Tom’s passion. After retirement he continued to drive around and check out the crops and farm machinery.
Tom became a loving parent and grandparent to Lynda’s children and grandchildren. Many fun times were spent on bleachers for sporting events, school activities, church activities, and many family events. Those left to cherish his memory include Lynda Tucker; Bryan, Betsy, Caden, and Weston Scheer; Sabrina and Calvin Tucker; Micaiah and Evangelean Smith; Hannelore Guerrero; Jorge and Tina Lopez; Bruce Klemme; and many other family and friends.
