Adeline Kathryn Hall Anderl of Sioux City, passed away on May 11, 2017 after a long and beautiful life. At 103 she was well loved by her family and community where she made a difference in the lives of so many.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Faith United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Adeline was born on Sept. 30, 1912, in White Lake, S.D. She graduated at age 20 from Morningside College and became a teacher of English, rhetoric, discourse, debate, and drama.
She married Wayne Andy Anderl (deceased) and together they raised three sons. Adeline was a great teacher and deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a founding member of Morningside Presbyterian Church. She was a loyal friend and in later years was visited daily by one very special friend, Fern Herbst.
Her children are Dick (deceased) and Ruth of Souderton, Pa., Bill (deceased), and Jim and Jean of Falcon Heights, Minn.; her four grandchildren, Andrew (deceased), Rev. Peter Anderl of Mooreton, N.D., Sarah Grant and Curt of Parker, Colo., and Carrie McAdams and Shaun of Worcester, Pa.; and her seven great-grandchildren, Luke Grant, Noelle Grant, Gabriel Grant (deceased), Eva Grant, Sophia Grant, Juliette Grant, and Ian McAdams.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family asks your donations be made to the Faith United Presbyterian Church (formerly Morningside Presbyterian Church) in Sioux City.
