SIOUX CITY | Alan Dale Sandusky, 65, of Sioux City died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Alan was born in July 1947 in Sioux City, the son of Lowell and Verna (Kalas) Sandusky. He lived in Sioux City most of his life. He attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School in 1965. He later attended Western Iowa Tech Community College where he took classes in electronics.
Alan married Barbara Williams on Aug. 24, 1974. They divorced in 1984.
He worked for Tyson Foods, Sperry Co. and Zenith.
He attended Westlawn Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed watching movies, drinking coffee and working on computers.
Survivors include his two children, Robert (Jacque) Sandusky and Rebecca (Jeremy) Arends, all of South Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Kay-Lee, Alyssa, Kristina, Bradon, Sarah, Stephanie and Shawn; his sister and brothers, Marilyn Keairns of Des Moines, Carl (Shirley) Sandusky of Denver, Colo., and Vern (Paula) Sandusky of Vacaville, Calif.
