MOVILLE, Iowa -- Albert Irvin Ploen, 62, of Moville died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at his home in Moville.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. James Berka officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Albert was born in Moville, Iowa, on June 18, 1947, the son of Walter and Wynona (Martin) Ploen. He was a lifelong resident of Moville and graduated from Woodbury Central High School in 1965. He farmed for the rest of his life. On May 18, 1971, he married Lorrie Andersen. They were married for 18 years.
Albert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. He loved farming and working with the livestock. What he enjoyed most was spending time with children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was a man with many friends. He always had a great sense of humor and an admirable work ethic.
He is survived by his three children, a daughter and her husband, Shawna and Brad Feddersen of Anthon, Iowa; a son, Snapper Ploen of Seattle, Wash., and a daughter, Lacey Ladd and James Robinson of Moville; three grandchildren, Alec Ladd, SophieRae and Dash Feddersen; and three brothers, Jim and his wife, Caryl of Buda, Texas, Mike and his wife, Gail of Moville, and Don Ploen and Nancy Arnold of Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
