Alida W. Bruneau, 100, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at her residence.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Deacon Pat Roberts officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Alida was born on Oct. 25, 1915, in Sioux City, to William and Frances (De Kok) Maas. She married Joseph C. Bruneau on Aug. 27, 1935, in Elk Point, S.D. They made their home in Sioux City. Alida worked hard all of her life and retired from Wincharger. Joseph preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1988.
She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, relative and friend, who was loved by all.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph Bruneau of Fort Calhoun, Neb., and Mark Bruneau of Sioux City; grandchildren, Rusty, Ricky, Scott, Deanna, Susan, Bill and Glenn; daughter-in-law, Anneliese Bruneau-Norris; sister-in-law, Elissa Collins; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, William Bruneau; four brothers, Ferdinandus, William, Peter, and Francis; and three sisters, Ferdinanda Marshall, Nellie Rysdam and Donnarae Johnson.
