Allen D. Bibler

July 20, 1954 — September 13, 2013

Allen D. Bibler, 59, of Lawton passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at a local hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery at Lawton. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Allen was born on July 22, 1954, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Gerald and Jeannine (Johnson) Bibler. Allen attended Sioux Valley High School in Linn Grove, Iowa, and graduated in 1972. He then attended Sheldon Northwest Community College for a year.
He was united in marriage to Cynthia Thomas on Feb. 14, 1981, in Cushing, Iowa. She passed away on Sept. 13, 2003. He then married Bonnie Clark on Sept. 3, 2013, in Sioux City. Allen worked for the city of Hawarden from 1973 to 1978. He then worked as a power lineman for Woodbury REC.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with family, playing cards, gambling, camping, boating and chuck wagon racing.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Jeannine, and stepfather, Wayne Hansen; children of Al and Cindy, Tom Bibler of Lawton, Shannon (Phil) Bogh of Le Mars, Iowa; wife, Bonnie of Climbing Hill, Iowa; stepchildren, Stacey and Lisa Clark; grandchildren, Avery, Haley, Tegan and Addison Bogh, Andrew and Riley Bibler and Hunter and Jack Morgan; brothers and sisters, Janet (Greg) Otten, Jerry (Marlene) Bibler, Diane (Greg) Wede and Marvin Bibler; brother-in-law, Russ Sparks; mother-in-law, Patricia Thomas; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Tony) Gunsch of Yuma, Ariz., and Ann (Tom) Roughton of Bakersfield, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; father, Gerald; sister, Joann Sparks; father-in-law, Jake Thomas of Moville; and father and mother-in-law, Rita and George Benjamin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
