Alyssa Rae Dicks, 30, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Lloyd Grant officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Alyssa was born on July 14, 1987, in Sioux City, the daughter of Michael and Lisa (McDonald) Dicks. She attended Sioux City Community Schools.
She worked as a waitress for a period of time. She then began driving a taxi cab until her illness prevented her from working. She loved artwork and being with her family. She attended Central Baptist Church.
Alyssa is survived by her grandparents whom she had made her home for the past few years, Lyle and Geraldine Mofatt; her mother, Lisa Lorimor; her three children, Jelil, Jasity, and Jerrilynn; her half brother, Justin Lorimor; her maternal grandmother, Linda McDonald; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; her grandfather, James McDonald; and cousin, Paula Dicks.
