SLOAN, Iowa -- Alyssa Renee Lux, 4-month-old daughter of Zachary and Michelle Lux of Sloan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, 1801 Morningside Ave., with Pastor Bryce McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Alyssa Renee Lux was born on Dec. 3, 2008, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, to Zachary and Michelle (Carlson) Lux. Alyssa was the joy of Zach and Michelle's life. Alyssa was able to brighten a room with a smile. She will be truly missed by those she leaves behind.
Alyssa is survived by her parents, Zach and Michelle of Sloan; sisters, Chelsea and Brianna of Sloan; grandparents, Sharon Lux of Sioux City, Ron Lux and Patti Nevin of Sloan, Duane and wife, Darla Carlson of Centerville, S.D., and Tony and wife, Patty Verdin of Sioux City; and great-grandparents, Judy Maurer of Sibley, Iowa, Shirley Stokely of North Sioux City, S.D., Yvonne Harrington of Sioux City, and Darrell and wife, Carole Lux of Salix, Iowa. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive Alyssa.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Joshua Lux; great-grandparents, Marvin Harrington, George Carlson, Paul Stokely and Gene Maurer.
A memorial has been established in Alyssa's name at the Municipal Credit Union, 103 Fairmount St., Sioux City, Iowa.
