Anita A Gossett, 65 of Sioux City, Iowa died, October 14, 2022, surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday October 25, 2022, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51106 with Pastor B. J. VanKalsbeek officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Anita was born November 17, 1956, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Jack and Gloria Mae (Gerber) Brouwer. She grew up attending Sioux City Schools, graduating from East High School in 1975. Following high school, she attended WITT and earned her nursing degree. Anita married John Gossett in 1976, the couple had three children, Johnita, Trista, and James. The family lived in Colorado and Wyoming, the couple divorced in 1991 and Anita returned to Sioux City in 1994 and continued in her nursing career, retiring in December 2021.
Her hobbies included fishing, kayaking, and jet skiing. Anita loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was an adventurous person and loved taking the grandchildren on many adventures.
Anita met her Significant other, Doug Misko in 2019, when he put new carpet in her house and showed her how to adjust her screen door. Doug brought her so much happiness. They loved going on adventures near and far. The family would like to thank Doug for his love and dedication to Anita from the beginning to the end.
Surviving are two daughters, Trista Boyle of Sioux City, IA and Johnita & Jeremy Gray of Las Vegas, NV, son, James & Jeri Gossett of Le Mars, IA, nine grandchildren; Chase, Jordan, Trent, Jacob, Clayton, Braydon, Alona, Jenna and John, one great grandchild, Zephyr, her significant other, Doug Misko of Sioux City, IA., two sisters, Vesta & Darrell Clausen of Sioux City, IA and Teresa & Randy Worrell of Sioux City, IA., brother, Thomas & Kris Brouwer of Omaha, NE, and many nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents.
