Sioux City - Anna M. Witt, 100, of Sioux City, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at her home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Third Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Battle Creek, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Anna was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Dickman) Witt. She attended school and graduated from Battle Creek High School.
When Anna was younger, she worked on the family dairy. She moved to Des Moines for a short time before making her home in Sioux City. Anna worked for Fantles Clothing. She worked at Joe Morton Insurance for more than 25 years until her retirement.
Anna was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Iris Witt of Battle Creek and Eleanor (Ken) Powers of Davenport, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Josie Martens, Lyda Galvin and Hazel Brosamle; and four brothers, Walter, Virgil, Donald and Wilfred Witt.
