Anna D. Yakabowsky, 96, of Sioux City died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Bickford Cottage in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Anna was born on Sept. 15, 1916, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Anna (Bolchunos) Duda. She attended school and graduated from East High School.
Anna married Adam J. Yakabowsky on June 7, 1936. They made their home in Sioux City. Adam died in October 1981.
Anna was a past member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the St. Casimir Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia and Richard Verschoor of Henderson, Nev., Sandra O’Hearn of Cherokee, Iowa, and Julie and Ken Huser of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adam; a sister, Julia Zebus; a brother, Casimir Duda; and a son-in-law, Cornelius O’Hearn.
