Anne M. Bergeron, 90, died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Holy Spirit Retirement Community.
A memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Anne M. Cullen, the daughter of John W. and Marian (Heisler) Cullen, was born July 6, 1926, in Fargo, N.D. She graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. After college, Anne taught high school English in Mapleton, N.D., for two years.
In 1950, Anne was united in marriage with William M. Bergeron. They moved to Sioux City, where they had since lived. While in Sioux City, five children were born to the couple. Anne also worked for Western Iowa Tech as an ESL Teacher and as a GED Teacher for many years.
Anne is survived by a son, John (Rose) Bergeron of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four daughters, Jean (Dale) Monroe of Marion, Iowa, Collette Beitelspacher of Le Mars, Iowa, Mary (Dan) Scholl of Sioux City, and Elizabeth (Bob) Olson of Woodland Park, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Bergeron of Chicago, Ill., Ethel Mae Costello of Eveleth, Minn., Jean Cullen of Omaha, and Mavis Freborg of Underwood, N,D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brothers, Joseph and John Cullen; sister, Collette; and son-in-law, Leonard Beitelspacher.
