SIOUX CITY -- Annetta Marie Hansen, 74, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russell Senstad of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Annetta was born April 8, 1937, in Merrill, Iowa, to Allison Bauerly and Viola Bauerly. She grew up and graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School.
On Feb. 16, 1960, she married Rex Hansen in South Sioux City. She worked at the Methodist Hospital as a dietitian and later for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend. Her hobbies and favorite pastimes included spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, cooking, and watching Hawkeye and Viking football.
Survivors include her husband, Rex Hansen of Sioux City; a son, Randy Scott Hansen of Weston, Fla.; a daughter, Kim Hansen of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Jacob Hansen, Terrell Hills, Bryce Hansen and Hayden Hansen; two brothers, Gail and Betty Bauerly and Gordon and Dawn Bauerly, all of Sioux City; two sisters, Marilyn Harris and Barb Jensen, both of Sioux City; and a sister-in-law, Sally Bauerly.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Hansen; her parents; a brother, Jack Bauerly; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Jensen and Kenneth Harris.
