Sioux City - Anton V. Sunclades, 88, of Sioux City died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Armand Bertrand will officiate. Entombment of the ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Anton was born in Sioux City, on July 30, 1924. He was raised here and graduated from East High School in 1941. He moved to California and then joined the U.S. Army in 1943. He was a machine gunner and served in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.
On Dec. 27, 1958, he married Lillian M. Monsell in Omaha. The couple moved to Des Moines in 1959. He worked at William’s Pipeline for 27 years. Lillian died on Nov. 10, 2009, in Des Moines. Anton moved to Sioux City in May 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Adair and two grandsons, Danny and Tony, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; his nephew, Tony and Angela Sunclades of Sioux City; his niece, Mycelle Sunclades of New Orleans, La.; and other nieces and nephews.
