Ardell J. Grieve, 71, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Private family services will be held at Christy-Smith Larkin Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ardell was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Onawa, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Onawa and Sioux City. At the age of 14, she moved to Sioux City and had resided here ever since.
On Dec. 10, 1981, she married John Grieve in Elk Point, S.D. She worked as a medical aide for various nursing homes in the Sioux City area.
She enjoyed going to the boat, playing bingo, animals, a peaceful home life, but most of all, she enjoyed helping and caring for others throughout her life.
Survivors include her husband, John Grieve of Sioux City; children, Terri and Michael Davis of Onalaska, Wash., Colleen and Kelly Johnson of Chehalis, Wash., Cynthia and John Nash of Sioux City, Patricia and Pete Gentile of Onalaska, Wash., Sherri and Kenny Swanson of Sioux City and Ronnie and Sherri Scofield of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bonnie Trotter of Missouri, and Betty Sundberg of California.
