Arlene Hard

Sioux City - Arlene B. Hard, 78, of Sioux City made her journey to heaven on March 5, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Del Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Arlene was born on June 22, 1934, in Sioux City, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Cash) Leffler.
She married Melvin Hard on April 2, 1955. They made their home in Sioux City. Arlene stayed home to raise their children. After that work was done, she went to work at McDonalds for more than 10 years. Melvin died on July 1, 2003.
Arlene was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arlene also enjoyed going to breakfast every week with her son, Jim, going to coffee club with her friends and fishing.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki and Bruce Lynch of Milwaukee, Wis., Linda and Bob Jackson of Sioux City, and Laura and Daniel Linduski of Ogden, Iowa; a son, James and Sheryle Hard of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jeanette, Evelyn and Norma; and a brother, Edward.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; a brother, Johnny; and a sister, Linda.
