SIOUX CITY -- Arlene Ann Lamphere, 86, of Elizabethtown, Ky., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at her residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Arlene was a native of Hospers, Iowa. She was the daughter of Leo and Johanna (Stapenhorst) Reuter. She married Fred Lamphere. He died in 1974. She lived in Sioux City from 1950 until 1960, when she moved to the Chicago area. While in Sioux City, she worked at the Zenith Corporation.
Three years ago, she moved to Elizabethtown, Ky., to live with her son. She was active in the Elizabethtown Senior Center and was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons, Robert of Elizabethtown, Ky., and David of Quincy, Ill.; a daughter, Geraldine (Kenneth) Grawe of Quincy, Ill.; three grandchildren, Laura (Michael) Madsen, Andrew Grawe and Katherine (Robert) Marold; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Miranda Madsen; three brothers, Robert of Cherokee, Iowa, Jerome of Hospers, Iowa, and Harold of Moline, Ill.; and three sisters, Rosella Reuter of Hospers, Viola Zenk of Alton, Iowa, and Joanna Trienan of Lincoln, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gerald; and a sister, Alice Hollis.
