SIOUX CITY -- Arley E. Bowman, 80, of Sioux City died, with her family by her side, Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Prime Living Assisted Living in Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Arley was born April 27, 1929, in Sioux City, the daughter of Earl and Marie (Simion) Perley. She grew up in the Sioux City area and graduated from Central High School.
She married Paul W. Bowman on Oct. 8, 1952, in Sioux City. Paul died Oct. 4, 1994.
She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Stuart and Linda Bowman of Sioux City; two daughters, Lynn and Tim Gard of Sioux City and Mary and Mike Hallwas of McCook Lake, S.D.; six grandsons; four granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Bowman; a sister, Marilyn Garrett; a brother, Charles Perley; and a nephew, David Perley.
