SIOUX CITY -- Arlie Ilene Jensen, 86, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Touchstone Living Center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arlie was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Colby, Kan., to Arthur and Elsie (Dowling) Groteluschen. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She worked as a secretary at Omaha Standard in Council Bluffs.
She married Lester C. Jensen on Feb. 12, 1950. The family lived in Council Bluffs, Spencer, Iowa, Sioux City and Phoenix, Ariz., before returning to Sioux City. She was a mother, homemaker and seamstress.
She attended Morningside Lutheran Church and was a member of the Morning Glories Quilting Ladies.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Jensen; a daughter, Gayle and Tom Canterbury; a son, Mark Jensen of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Matt (Tess) Canterbury, Seth Canterbury, Lisa (Justin) Robbins, Jeruschia and Joe Horton, and Danielle and Brad Cole; and great-grandchildren, Jaden Horton and Rye Canterbury.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
