Sioux City - Arta Jean Talsma Hull, 78, of Walnut Creek, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at her residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Arta was born in Orange City, Iowa, the fifth of eight children to Frances Vander Stoep and Julius Talsma. She graduated from East High School.
She was united in marriage to Cordell Hull on July 25, 1953.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 61 years, Cordell; daughters, Cindy (Ron) Assour of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Sandy (Randy) Gooch of Westminster, Colo.; grandchildren, Derek, Lauren, and Shawn; a granddog, Maddie; sisters, Mary (Clark) Godfrey of Sioux City, Judy (Everett) Verdoorn of Lone Tree, Colo., and Kay (Jim) Godfrey of Sioux City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Above all, Arta was best defined by the love of family.
