SIOUX CITY -- Austin Markus Lofton, 21, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at the intersection of Highway 20 and Charles Street near Lawton, Iowa, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller, Methodist minister, officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .
Austin was born Dec. 8, 1988, in Fayetteville, Ark. He he grew up in Missouri and graduated from high school in Warrensburg, Mo. He came to Sioux City in 2005 and attended classes at Western Iowa Tech Community College. He had been employed for his father at M.L. Perfection Insulation. At the time of his death, he was working as an auto body repairman for Motorville Body Shop in Moville, Iowa.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mark S. and Cynthia A. Lofton of Sioux City; his mother, Michelle G. Waltman of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister, Kendra Schroffe of Fayetteville; two brothers, Brock Lofton and Blake Lofton, both of Sioux City; a special friend, Angie Pounder and her two children, Beau and Tunney Merrill of Sioux City; his maternal grandmother, LaWanda Waltman of Fayetteville; his paternal grandmother, Wilma Lofton of South Sioux City; and his paternal grandfather, Ray Lofton of South Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Waltman; and his uncle, Ricky G. Lofton.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Mast, Max Lanning, Brock and Blake Lofton, Lance Mohr and Kai Kiener.
