SIOUX CITY -- Barbara J. Horan, 68, of Sioux City died Friday, July 10, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital following a battle with cancer.

Barbara was born Aug. 15, 1940, in McAlester, Okla. She lived in McAlester and Early, Iowa, and came to Sioux City as a child. She graduated from East High School. Barbara worked at Zenith and also in outpatients at St. Luke's Hospital.
On June 14, 1980, she married James T. Horan at First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. She was an active member of her church. The thing she loved doing the most was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James of Sioux City; two sons, Michael Martensen of San Antonio, Texas, and Kevin and his wife, Bobbi Martensen of Kingsley, Iowa; six grandchildren; her mother, Louise Marquardt of Sioux City; her brother, Ronald Ramsey of Columbus City, Ind.; five stepsons, Dale Horan and his special friend, Diane Porter, Gale and Judy Horan, Mark and Gale Horan, John and Beth Horan and Jim and Linda Horan; and eight stepgrandchildren.
