SIOUX CITY -- Barbara J. (Listman) Lohrman, 77, of Sioux City met her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home following a lengthy illness and complications from COPD.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. James A. Bruch, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will resume one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church.
Barb, whose ancestral roots came from South Dakota, was born in Sioux City on Dec. 11, 1931. She was adopted on Sept. 17, 1932, by Carl and Darlene (Wier) Listman of Sioux City. Barb attended school at St. Boniface. Her employment included Zenith Corp. and Donnelley Marketing as well as a homemaker for her children.
Barb was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Women's Rosary Society. She was a volunteer at Holy Spirit Retirement Home and the Democratic Party. Barb's spiritual gift was giving of herself in service to others. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved cooking, arts and crafts, angels and playing bingo.
Survivors include a son, Ron and his wife, Penny Listman; a daughter, Cindy (Lohrman) Pedersen; a son, Rod Lohrman, and hunka daughter, Sherri Moore. Barb was blessed with the love of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Donald Listman.
