Barry Dennis Clayton, age 61, of Onawa, Iowa died unexpectedly Wednesday August 15, 2018 at his home.
Per his wishes, Barry has been cremated. Morningside Chapel Christy Smith Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
Barry was born in Onawa, Iowa on April 29, 1957, the son of Everett “Abe” and Amy (Allen) Clayton. He attended school in Onawa and graduated from West Monona High School with the class of 1975. Upon his graduation, Barry served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1975-1978. During his service from 1976-1978 he was stationed at Field Station Augusburg in Augsburg, Germany where he had the time of his life and formed many lifelong friends.
He was united in marriage with Bonnie Pallas on October 4, 1980 in Emerson, Nebraska and to that marriage was born a daughter, Samantha (whom he nicknamed HamBone), in 1988.
Barry was a Professional Photographer and the founder and owner operator of Clayton Photography for many years until his recent retirement. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, the Masonic Lodge, and the Kiwanis. He was known as the Master Joke Teller, who also enjoyed target shooting, reading, and was an animal lover.
Those left to morn his passing are his wife Bonnie of Onawa, his daughter Samantha of Onawa, 3 brothers, two sisters, his Mother-in-Law, 3 sister-in-laws and their families, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Cindy, and his father-in-law Milton Pallas.
Memorials should be made to the family for future designation.
