Bernardine "Bernie" Kull, 83, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Bernardine was born on March 31, 1933, in Sioux City, the daughter of Frank and Loretta (Micek) Lemek. She was united in marriage with Walter "Sunny" Kull on July 25, 1954, at St. Francis Church in Sioux City. Walter preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2005, in Sioux City.
She spent most of her life working in the insurance industry as a secretary for Travelers Insurance and Bill and Joe Puetz.
Bernardine was a member of the Notre Dame Club in Sioux City, Queen of Peace, and The Carmelite Guild. She was an avid supporter of Bishop Heelan Schools. She was a former member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a current member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Her life will always be remembered by her family which includes her daughter, Julie (Bill) Darwin of Sioux City; her sons, Bob (Jerrilynn) Kull of North Sioux City and William (Kim) Kull of Sioux City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; as well as her sister-in law, Mary Lemek of Readfield, Maine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Ray Lemek.
