Bernice Evelyn Tracy (Singleton)

Bernice E. Tracy, 89, of Sioux City died May 1, 2013, at her daughter's home in Sioux City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Ryan Christenson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
Bernice was born April 1, 1924 in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Russel and Elsie (Griep) Singleton. She was baptized at St. James United Methodist Church. She attended school and graduated from Moville High School. She continued her education at NBT and received secretarial training.
Bernice moved to Sioux City for a short time before moving to Washington, DC and Sausalito, Calif., where she worked in her preferred field. She moved back to the Sioux City area.
Bernice married John Tracy on March 26, 1946 at Scranton, Iowa. Together they made their home in Sioux City. Bernice worked at Postal Finance and later for Novelty Machine Supply from which she retired. John died July 6, 1990.
Bernice was a member of St. James United Methodist. She enjoyed dancing with her husband John, shopping, knitting, playing cards with the card club and collecting all sorts of things.
She is survived by a son, William R. Tracy of Sioux City, a daughter, Kathleen and Robert Dondlinger of Sioux City; one granddaughter, Holly and Jim Martin of Pierson, Iowa; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Lieber and Natalie Martin
She was preceded by her parents and husband, John.
