SIOUX CITY -- Bertha M. Sather, 90, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Mark Westrich officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .
Bertha was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Washta, Iowa, the daughter of William "John" and Maggie (White) Dawson. She attended school and graduated from Washta High School.
She married Harold Sather on Aug. 12, 1939, in Sioux City. They made their home in Sioux City. Harold died in 1984.
She was a former member of Morningside Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include four children, Cindy and Ted Ketchelos of Glendale, Ariz., Randy Sather of Sioux City, Paul and Sue Sather of Pasco, Wash., and Susan and Don Windles of Sioux City; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harlan and Joyce Dawson of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maggie Dawson; her husband, Harold Sather; and 10 brothers and sisters.
