Betty L. Bowman

Betty L. Bowman, 82, of Sioux City passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Betty was born on Feb. 14, 1933, in Thurston County, Neb., to Everett and Della (Mosher) Piper. She graduated from East High School and lived in Sioux City most of her life.
Betty was a founding member of the Siouxland Country Music Association and enjoyed music and spending time with her family. She was the first official fan club member of the Rider's in the Sky, country music group, whom she enjoyed seeing whenever she could.
Survivors include her daughter, Carole (Jerry) Klein of Hartley, Iowa; grandsons, Justin Klein of Sioux City, and Nickolas Klein of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; eight brothers; and a daughter, Jean Bowman.
