Betty was born on July 5, 1928, in rural Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Merlin and Edna (Porsch) Harrison. At the age of 1, Betty's family moved to south of Moville for six years and then moved around Lawton, where she had continued to live on several farm places for the remainder of her life.
She had married Milford Rogers on May 5, 1945. To this union two children were born, Patricia and Michael. She had worked at the Cudahy, Swift and Stockman plants for several years, while still helping to run the farm.
Betty loved to dance, and at one dance she met Lloyd Nobbe, whom she married on Jan. 25, 1969, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton. She enjoyed going to Shore Acres, Uptown Ballroom, the Auditorium, South Sioux City Eagles, the Red Raven and many more dance halls out of town with her husband and her friends, especially Harlen and Patti Mates.
She loved her trip to Hawaii in 1967 with her friend, Florence DeBose; coconut pie piled high; road trips, many to California; and trips to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. She spent many hours in her yard with her flower and vegetable gardens raising many varieties as well as moving about her yard and farm on her beloved golf cart. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; a daughter, Patricia (Bruce) Simmons of Atlantic, Iowa; a son, Michael (Janiece) Rogers of Merced, Calif.; five grandchildren, Kimm (Todd) Cropley of Lawton, Matthew (Beth) Trexel of Burlington, Iowa, Nathan (Tara) Trexel of Altoona, Iowa, Jill Rogers and Jeffrey Rogers, both of Santa Maria, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren, Brett and Tricia Cripley, Steven, Autumn and Mitchell Trexel, Regan, Conner and Noah Trexel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
