SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Betty June Satterwhite, 82, of South Sioux City died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel, with the Rev. Janice Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery at Homer, Neb. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Betty was born April 4, 1925, at Sioux City, the daughter of George and Linnie (Woods) Powell. She was raised and attended school in South Sioux City.
She married Wilfred Satterwhite in the early 1940s. Together they made their home in Sioux City and the surrounding area. Wilfred died in the late 1990s. Betty worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a nurse's aid until its closing. She then worked at Matney's Colonial Manor until her retirement in 2000.
Betty enjoyed working with her flowers in the garden.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Karen and Roger Caskey of Elk Point, S.D.; three sons, Clifford and Micki Satterwhite of Wichita, Kan., Jeff and Bert Satterwhite of Hubbard, Neb. and Alvin and Barb Satterwhite of Arizona; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Jerry Stewart of South Sioux City; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Wallace; two granddaughters, Ronda and Stormie; and a sister, Margie Sebold.
