SIOUX CITY -- Betty L. Wenbourne, 87, Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 29,2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. John Pehrson of Westminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Betty was born May 15, 1923, in Gibson, Mont., the daughter of Henry and Florence (Dunn) Vanhoute. She was raised in Boyden, Iowa, and graduated from Boyden High School. After high school, she came to Sioux City and attended the National Business Training College.
Betty married Harold Wenbourne in Sioux City and he preceded her in death in 1989. Betty worked as a deputy clerk for the district courts in Sioux City for 23 years.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Girls of 68, and the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
She is survived by her two sisters, Marjorie Zuhrfer of Denver, Colo., and Donna Lee Floyd of Bridgton, Maine; a special friend, Jack Williams; and nieces and nephews.
