LAWTON, Iowa -- Beverly A. Larson, 75, of Lawton died Friday, April 16, 2010, at an assisted living facility in Sergeant Bluff.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Online condolences may be sent to

Beverly was born June 8, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Cecelia (Anderson) Hoffman. As a young child, she moved with her family to Omaha, Neb., where she attended school and graduated from Central High School. After graduation, she moved to Chicago, then back to Omaha.
Beverly married James B. Larson on Nov. 19, 1955, in Sioux City. Together they made their home near Lawton. They moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, and Omaha again for a short time before returning to Lawton. Beverly was a seamstress, working with custom draperies. After James retired, they became the owners of BJ's Bar & Grill in Lawton. James died May 4, 1991.
Beverly was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where she had been a Bible study teacher. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. In her early years, she enjoyed the saddle club and trail riding. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards, especially with her card club in Lawton. Beverly loved her dog and companion, Zoie.
Survivors include two daughters, Roxanne and Gary Flammang of Lawton, and Jami and Russ Wermers of Sergeant Bluff; a son, Brad and Cara Larson of Lawton; and nine grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Nicholas, Cari, Zachary, Adam, Nick, Alex and Evan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Siouxland or Siouxland Humane Society.
