Beverly M. Hoelker

Beverly M. Hoelker, 87, of Lawton died Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, Iowa, with the Rev. Bradley Pelzel officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Beverly was born on Nov. 4, 1927, in Randolph, Neb., the daughter of Frank and Esther (Stedry) Sohler. She attended school and graduated from Yankton (S.D.) High School.
After graduation, she moved to Sioux City, where she met LeRoy Hoelker. The couple was married in Moville in 1947. They made their home on a farm near Lawton, where they lived together for more than 57 years until LeRoy's death in January 2004. Over the years, Beverly sold Avon and more recently worked at Hy-Vee as a food demonstrator.
Beverly was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Dancing Grannies and Grandpas. She loved spending time watching the grandkids' and great-grandkids' school activities, spending time with the family, and spending time at the pond. Beverly enjoyed crossword puzzles, dancing and gambling.
Survivors include her four children, Kathy Goodwin of Lawton, Shari Hoelker of Omaha, Chuck (Chris) Hoelker of Lawton, and Rory (Cris) Hoelker of Folsom, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; half brother, Gail Sohler; three half sisters; and a special friend, Larry Howard of Dakota Dunes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; five siblings; and a son-in-law, Bill Goodwin.
