SIOUX CITY -- Beverly J. Lovell, 86, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010, at a local hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Beverly was born June 20, 1923, in Sioux City, to Lee and Ester (Lynn) Ryder. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She graduated from East High School in 1941.
She married Burton Lovell on Nov. 22, 1943, in Leavenworth, Kan. He passed away Sept. 10, 2000, in Sioux City. She worked at Madsen Bakery in Cecelia Park for 25 years. She later worked at Greenville Pharmacy, running the Children's Department for 37-plus years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved her animals, family events, bingo, her church, and being around people. She lived her life and she did it her way.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Becka (Tallman) and Robert Clelland of San Diego, Calif., Robert and Marilyn Tallman of Jackson, Neb., Mary and Gene Nitzschke of Sioux City, Richard Grover of Omaha, and Sandy Dawdy, Roberta Kimball and Bobby Haager, all of Kentucky; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church rebuilding fund.
