Bonnie R. Dahms

Bonnie Ruby (Gutzmann) Dahms, 97, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at a local hospital in Sioux City, IA.

Bonnie Gutzmann, the daughter of William H. and Ruby V. (Rogers) Gutzmann was born April 28, 1927, in rural Dixon County, NE. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Bonnie graduated from high school in Emerson, NE in 1945, and went on to attend Wayne State College.

On February 24, 1950, Bonnie was united in marriage with Wayne C. Dahms. Three children were born to this union, Susan Bonnie, Mark Wayne, and Timothy John. The family moved to Hornick, IA to farm in 1956.

Bonnie enjoyed gardening, flowers, flying, traveling, and farm work. She was a former member of International Flying Farmers.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne, on July 29, 1996; her daughter Susan Dahms Streeter on September 2, 2004; her son-in-law, Art Streeter on January 8, 2023; her son, Mark Dahms, on July 5, 1972; her son, Timothy Dahms on July 28, 2020; sister, Violet Alebecht; brothers, William, Leslie, Leonard, and Lewis Gutzmann; and sisters-in-law, Yvonne Eriksen and Luthea Root.

Bonnie is survived by grandsons, Jason, Steve, and Tom Streeter, Clint and Grant Dahms, and many great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at a later date. Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
