Bonnie Mae Hurley, 89, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Norwalk Nursing and Rehab in Norwalk, Iowa, from complications of Alzheimer's.
As per Bonnie’s request, the body will be cremated. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 5206 Military Rd., in Sioux City.
Bonnie was born on May 22, 1927. She was a loving mother and grandmother who worked a variety of jobs in retail and several years as a house mother at AIB. Bonnie also served in the U.S. Army, traveling all over Europe.
She is survived by her children, Judy Bradley of Niceville, Fla., David Clark of Indianola, Iowa, Stevi Clark of Milo, Iowa, Rebecca (Jim) Smith of Norwalk, and Gerald (Debbie) Bennett of Sioux City; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Myrtle Lambert; siblings, Earl, Bill, and Patricia; husband, Harvey; and grandchildren, Jamie, Kathy and Betsy Bradley.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Norwalk Nursing and Rehab for making her last two and a half years more comfortable.
