Bonnie Jean Limmer

Sioux Falls, SD – Bonnie J. Limmer, 86, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at a nursing home in Sioux Falls, SD.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2024, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Wentworth, SD. Bonnie Jean Magness, the daughter of Martin and Hannah (Severson) Magness was born January 27, 1938, in Chester, SD. She graduated from Chester High School in 1956. 

On June 21, 1958, Bonnie was united in marriage with Eugene Limmer in Chester, SD. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Dakota State University in Madison, SD. Bonnie also has an E.D and an E.G. She taught elementary school in Oldham, Volga, and Brookings, SD. Bonnie taught history, music, and science. She retired in 1998.

Bonnie was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Ladies’ Aide, the choir, served on the funeral committee, and sang on the TV show “Main Street Living”. She enjoyed singing, playing piano at church, and various church activities. Bonnie loved spending time with family and friends, especially playing cards.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Eugene of Sioux Falls; son, Jason Limmer of Sioux Falls; daughter, Joelle (Brian) Fritz of Sioux Falls; a granddaughter, Jenna (Ross) Sutter; a great-grandson, Revan; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Christian Donley; two sisters; and a brother.
