Brenda Jones

Brenda F. Jones, 46, of Sioux City was called home to be with her Savior on Jan. 22, 2016, in Sioux City. She was a brave warrior holding strong to her faith during a four-year battle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma. Cancer was able to destroy her body but not her spirit.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior.
Brenda was born on Sept. 11, 1969, on the United States Army Post in Fort Knox, Ky. From birth she was destined to be precious as gold. Brenda grew up in Norwalk and Madera, Calif. She loved camping, water skiing, the beach and visiting Yosemite. She graduated from Madera High School and spent many years teaching preschool at Grace Christian School in Fresno. She was an excellent teacher and trusted friend to many students and their parents.
In 2002, Brenda married Russ Jones and from this union came Brenda’s greatest earthly joy, her daughter, Kristina. She was a devoted mother, focused on raising her daughter with love and Christian values. Brenda attended WITCC in Sioux City and with her training, began working at Hallmark Care Center where she remained as long as she was able. She had a wonderful gift of gently encouraging those around her with understanding and humor.
Brenda lived a life filled with friends, family and laughter. She always remained close to her parents and enjoyed traveling with her sister. Together they took their daughters on many adventures including recent trips to Illinois and the Black Hills. Brenda will be remembered for her funny stories, Christian faith and feisty attitude. She definitely lived life her way and maintained a carefree and positive attitude in spite of her illness.
Left to honor Brenda and remember her love are her daughter, Kristina Jones; parents, Melvin and Dorothy Cline; sister, Jenny Tobin; niece, Anita Tobin; grandmother, Viola Cline; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brenda was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Clarence Cline; and maternal grandparents, Francis and Velma Kaufman.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:4.
