Bridget "Chris" Kilpatrick, 55, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hubbard, Neb. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Chris was born on Nov. 19, 1962, to Frances Dyer and Charles Cadwallader Sr., in Sioux City. Chris graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School.
On March 20, 1981, she married Keith Kilpatrick, and they spent 37 wonderful years together. To this marriage they had one daughter, Megan.
Chris's love for children led her to become a stay-at-home mom to care for her daughter as well as a care provider for a few very special families. After the kids grew older, she started working at McDonald's where she became a manager and then retired after 20 years with the company to pursue her favorite job of all, to become a grandma.
Growing up on her parents' farm in Sergeant Bluff, Chris had a love for horses, working livestock with her dad and brother, Billy, and riding four wheelers. Chris also enjoyed watching Fixer Upper, Diet Coke, shopping at Target with her daughter and granddaughter, and going to concerts with her friend Lynn. But the biggest joy in her life was her granddaughter, Sawyer P. Together they enjoyed going on walks, playing outside, county fairs, and, when it was cold, visits to the Launch Pad, but most of all getting to spend every day with each other.
Chris is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Megan (Curt) Harris; granddaughter, Sawyer; brother, Billy (Amy) Cadwallader; half brother, Dick (Allison) Harper; and her favorite niece, Emily Cadwallader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and half brothers, Charles "Mick" Cadwallader and Pat Harper.
