SIOUX CITY -- Brooke Renee Harrison, 31, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are pending with Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Brooke was born Aug. 24, 1979, to Melvin and Deb (Mevius) Harrison Jr. she attended Lawton-Bronson Public School and later Western Iowa Tech Community College.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included doing embroidery and spending time with her pet.
Survivors include her mother, Deb and Nelson Wynia of Maurice, Iowa; her father, Melvin and Robbin Harrison of Sioux City; two sisters, Robin and Jeremy Buckholtz and Jessica Harrison, all of Sioux City; a brother, Mick Harrison of Dakota City; a half brother, Tyler Harrison of Sioux City; two stepsisters, Katie Wynia of Hospers, Iowa, and Elizabeth Jones of Sioux City; three stepbrothers, Philip Wynia of Sibley, Iowa, and Michael Jones and Trevor Witzka, both of Sioux City; her grandmother, Helen Mevius of Sioux City; four nieces; several aunts and uncles; and her loving boyfriend, Shane Duffy of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her son, Shane Duffy Jr.; her paternal grandparents; and maternal grandfather.
