Bruce Compton

Bruce Harmon Compton, 94, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at a Sioux City Hospital.
Per Bruce’s wishes, he has been cremated, and no services will be held at this time. Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bruce Compton, the son of Harmon and Virginia Compton was born August 2, 1924, in Sioux City, IA. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City public schools.
On January 17, 1953, Bruce was united in marriage with Patricia Viken, in Sioux City, IA. Bruce worked as a livestock buyer at the Sioux City stock yards for 60 years. Bruce was a member of the Abu Becker Shrine as well as the White Horse Patrol. He loved watching baseball and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his children, Mary (Bob) Pease of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Jim (Kim) Compton of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Chris (Nicole) Compton, Andy (Kasie) Compton; great grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriella, Rayna Marie Compton; brother, Dick Compton, of Saint Angelo, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia, four sisters, and a brother.
