Bruce C. Salsness

Bruce Salsness, 61, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Bruce, the son of Art and Lillian (Rysta) Salsness, was born on Sept. 28, 1954, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Bruce grew up in Sioux City. He worked for his dad's business, Salsness Buick, by driving cars back to Sioux City from around the country.
Bruce was married to DiAnn Brower-Boyle and to this union, two children were born, Carrie and Jennifer. He was later united in marriage to Teresa Carnes. Bruce owned and operated his own landscaping and snow removal business called Yard Works.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He had a great fondness for bears. He would visit the wild bear refuge in Northern Minnesota, even volunteering there. Bruce also liked football, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Teresa of Sioux City; children, Carrie Salsness and significant other, John Holmes of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jennifer (Ole) Salsness-Tvedten of Sartell, Minn.; sisters, Judy Sherrill of Costa Rica, and Lynda (Gene) McNear of Bronson, Iowa; grandchildren, Grace and Eleanor Tvedten; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lynn; and ex-wife, DiAnn Brower-Boyle.
