SIOUX CITY | Caley Ray Cass, 24, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, from injuries sustained in an accident.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 5206 Military Road. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Caley Ray was born on April 14, 1988, in Robbinsdale, Minn. He grew up in Coon Rapids, Minn. As a child, he enjoyed fishing and went on his first fishing trip when he was 4 years old. He was involved in wrestling for many years and placed sixth in the state wrestling tournament.
After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Marines and served four years. He was honorably discharged in 2010 and moved to Sioux City, and had been a resident here ever since.
He attended Western Iowa Tech Community College and was currently employed with Tri-View Steel in Sioux City. Caley Ray was a member of the Harty McNally American Legion Post of Jackson, Neb. He often attended St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City.
Caley Ray will be remembered as a kind, loving and giving person. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help others. He loved being around people and spending time with his family, watching Cornhuskers and Vikings football, movies, playing video games and sports. He loved being an uncle and enjoyed watching his two nephews and spent many hours with them and their friends.
Survivors include his father, Jeff Cass and Gloriann Navrkal of Sioux City; grandfather, Donald Heth of Minnesota; uncles, Brad, Scott and Mark Heth of Minnesota, Scott Cass of Minnesota, Ron and Mike Cass of California. Caley Ray loved and considered Joe Navrkal and Kahden Sykes as his nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Heth; grandmother, Jean Heth; and grandparents, Milan and Audrey Cass
