Calvin Lee Quintard, 66, of Moville died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton, Iowa, with the Rev. Bruce Jackson officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Calvin was born on May 21, 1949, in Sioux City, the son of Leslie and Kathryn (Rasmussen) Quintard Jr. He attended school and graduated from Sioux Falls (S.D.) Lincoln High School in 1967. Calvin joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
He married Barbara Hunkele at Vandenberg AFB, California, on Feb. 5, 1971. After Calvin's honorary discharge in 1972, the couple made their home in Lawton. Calvin worked at Zenith until its closing, then for more than 23 years at Schaeff Inc. until he retired due to his health. He later moved to Moville.
Calvin was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and Lawton American Legion Post 718. He had been an EMT and fire chief in Lawton and had served on the Lawton city council. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Broc and Brooklyn. He also enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and car racing with the 91Y racing team.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Quintard of South Sioux City; daughter, Tracy (Joel) Heineman of South Sioux City; two grandchildren, Broc and Brooklyn; brother, Craig Quintard of Coon Rapids, Minn.; and an aunt, Adeline Robinson of Lawton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Michael; and an infant daughter, Terry.
