MOVILLE, Iowa -- Canice Davidson, 82, of Moville died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab in Kingsley, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, with Monsignor Mark Duchaine officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery at Moville. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Canice was born Jan. 22, 1929, at Sioux City, the daughter of Paul and Margaret (Garnett) Calhoun. She was born and raised in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School.
Canice married George "Marshall" Davidson on Sept. 13, 1947, at Sioux City. He passed away on Feb. 25, 1989, in Sioux City. After the couple's marriage, they moved to rural Lawton, Iowa, where they farmed until 1956, when they moved to Moville. Canice had been a resident of Moville ever since. She worked at the First Trust and Savings Bank and was owner-operator of Moville Tax Service.
Survivors include seven sons, Ronald and Dianne Davidson of Sioux City, George and Lisa Davidson of Sioux City, Gary Davidson of Texas, Dan and Cindy Davidson of Raymor, Mo., Kelly Davidson of Courage Homes in Sioux City, Cory and Peggy Davidson of Lawton, and Mike and Julie Davidson of Ankeny, Iowa; one daughter, Trudy and Jerry Bader of Moville; a daughter-in-law, Julie Davidson of Moville; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda and Jerry Mills of Sioux City; and two brothers, Charles and Shirley Calhoun of Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Tom and Connie Calhoun of McDonough, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall; a son, Tom; and a great-grandchild, Trevor.
