Carl Eldon Stoner

Milford, IA - Carl E. Stoner, 70 passed away Thursday Dec 6, 2012 at a Sioux City hospital. A memorial service will be at 10:30 on Tuesday, Dec 11, 2012 at the Christy – Smith Morningside Chapel with Pastor Matt Miller of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be just prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
Carl was born in Sikeston, Missouri to Isaac & Flora (Carlyle) Stoner on Aug 11, 1942. He grew up in Sikeston and later Overland, Missouri. At the age of 18 he joined the Air Force and served 20 yrs. He retired from the service in 1981. Carl married Carol Lochmiller on April 11, 1981 and lived in Council Bluffs, IA from 1981 –2005 when they moved to Milford, IA.
He was employed with the United States Air Force from 1961-1981. After the service he was an over the road trucker for Silvey Refrigeration for 6 years. He then was a shag driver and later worked for Standard Ready mix until 1995 Ready Mix Concrete 2005 until 2009.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching eagles, woodworking, refinishing, volunteering for THEE Garage Sale, decorating the yard at Christmas and was a pet lover.
Survivors include his wife Carol Stoner of Milford, IA; sons Kevin Stoner of Omaha, NE; Jeff Stoner of Ocheyedan, IA, Carl Stoner of Flower Mound, TX; daughter Paula Eckley of Summerville, SC; 5 grandchildren; Sister Joyce Reeves of St. Louis, Missouri.
Preceding him in death was his parents and a brother Ray Stoner.
