Carol Jean Culver, 79, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Services will be 6 p.m. Sunday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Carol was born on Jan. 12, 1937, in Sioux City, to Victor and Frances (Horton) Culver. She resided in Storm Lake and Pocahontas, Iowa, Englewood, Calif., and Sioux City. She worked as a clerk at Mid-American Energy, formerly IPS, for 15 years.
Carol enjoyed playing golf, traveling, riding motorcycles, crocheting, playing card games and cribbage, and spending time with family and grandkids.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Richard Johnson of Elk Point, S.D., Randall (MaryAnn) Johnson of Sioux City, Cheryl Harder of Sioux City, and Juli Groen of Sioux City; eight grandkids; 13 great-grandkids; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Robert (Donna) Culver of Sioux City; uncle, Raymond (Nancy) Horton of Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
